Mecca Normal - Who Shot Elvis?
So last week I attended a party celebrating Mecca Normal’s 25 years as a band. Opting for good beer over cheap eats I was quickly inebriated and in the middle of their set began demanding they play my favorite song “Throw Silver”. Jean and David are nothing if not born performers so they acquiesced to which I responded by crying because I am nothing if not every drunk girl cliche.
Demonstrating the reason why governments don’t negotiate with terrorists, soon everyone was shouting out requests and with a 25 year back catalog the band could’ve easily been there all night. I’ve seen the band about 10 times, this was not only my favorite gig of theirs but one of the best shows I’ve been to in years. They’re on tour now, see them when they come to your town!
